How to Avoid Burnout As a Software Engineer

Have you ever felt burnt out before? Have you wondered why your drive and passion for your craft start to diminish and even spending another second at it makes you feel out of sorts? This is common in the software engineering space.
Software engineers are known for their ability to code, but that's not all they do. You need to be able to handle a high-pressure environment, solve problems quickly, and work with others in a team setting.
If you're feeling overwhelmed by the demands of your job as a software engineer, here are some tips for avoiding burnout:
#1: Take time to rest when you need it. Burnout is a result of stress, which can be relieved by taking time out of your day. If you find yourself getting into trouble at work because of fatigue or overwork, take two hours off and get some sleep, or my experience I try to play a video game or watch an episode of an anime or a series I follow to distract my mind.
#2: Make sure that your work schedule allows for adequate downtime between projects. Software engineers often work on multiple projects at once and don't always have time to look at their code before moving forward with new tasks. If this sounds like something that's happening on your team, consider working more closely with one another so that each person can take care of their own responsibilities while still collaborating with others in order to move things forward efficiently!
#3: Don't let your job become too much for you—letting it consume all of your time will lead to burnout very quickly! It's good to focus on 2-3 tasks at a time instead of overloading yourself with multiple tasks without concentrating on any one of them. If you have to clear numerous tasks within a tight period of time.
We are responsible for our own mental state. We have to be good stewards of our own bodies and take good care of them. While working in the technology space can be intense and often under budget, making it even more intense, we have to pace ourselves for the long haul. Take a break! ^_^
